Her hand sticks out to me for some reason. Must be the punching hand for the dim-bulb male-hero-character.

It's very cute. Swirly cheeks are always good.

How did you do the background? Is it like... the watercolor filter in Photoshop on a photo of the beach? It looks nice actually, like a real cartoon's painted background.

I forget which filter it was. I went through all of them trying to-- as you pointed out-- get it looking like an anime background.

It was probably watercolor just with all the settings to the extremes. And yes it's a photo.
